The active ingredients in detangler leaves the hair feeling smooth, while leaving a "waxy" coating on the hair.  This detangler works because hair tangles when the cuticle layer of one hair catches on the cuticle layer of another hair.     The conditioning ingredients of this detangler form a protective layer over the cortex where the cuticle cells have broken away, which creates a protective layer or coating over these rough edges.  The protective coating created with conditioner also seals in moisture and reduces static electricity.  For best results when hair is damp, spray on small amounts at a time and let sit for a few seconds.  Comb the hair starting at the lowest point of the tangled area one section of hair at a time.  Reapply Detangler as needed.    The Detangler can be scented at .25 - .5% with essential oils or fragrance oils.  We highly recommend that you scent any product at the lowest percentage first and increase as needed.  This will help you avoid thinning of the product and excessive scenting.  It is easier to add more scent if you need more, but impossible to remove scent without adding more product. It's nice but....... August 8, 2009 Reviewer: Anonymous person from Tuscaloosa, AL United States   This product is excellent for personal use when added to aloe vera gel. It's very moisturizing and the comb just glides through my hair, however, I've noticed after several times of purchasing this product that the detangler isn't emulsified completely or something because the top part (when you pour it out) is very thick and lumpy while the bottom part is watery and thin. For this reason it wont spray very well so I have to add it to a gel base for the product to be completely uniform. Was this review helpful to you?

Works Better Than Expected February 17, 2008 Reviewer: Carol S. from Salem, OR United States   My girls really like this detangler.  Works great on different textures of hair.  Funny story, the other day my daughter who has long hair got a rubber band stuck in her hair.  It was really stuck, a tangled mess!  My husband tried for awhile to get it out and called it to my attention when he was ready to give up and cut off the knot with scissors.  It looked hopeless but I put some detangler on the area and rubbed it in.  Within only 3 seconds of light rubbing the knots came out and the rubber band fell to the floor!  When I looked up my girls' and husband's mouths had dropped and they were all staring at me.  Needless to say, small tangles or big, this is the product for us!
