Our comprehensive range of shampoos will make it possible for you to find something that is right for any type of hair. These formulas will keep your hair looking healthy, shinny and as vibrant as ever.
We are often asked why we only sell naturally derived surfactant-based shampoos and not the castile soap shampoos. The pH of most castile soap ranges between 9 to 11. This high pH causes the cuticle cells of hair to swell up and get rougher, which can leave your hair looking dull and lifeless. Additionally, castile soap often leaves "soap scum" on your hair, leaving behind deposits of calcium and magnesium. The pH of our shampoos are designed to allow cuticle scales to lie flat, protecting the cortex, which makes your hair appear shiny and smooth. We use these naturally derived surfactants because they are wetting agents that allow the shampoo to spread easily. Surfactants reduce the surface tension of the water. The term "Surfactant" is a combination of the words "surface active agent". Surface tension is a "virtual membrane," or boundary, between air and liquid. Surfactants are generally organic compounds that are amphilphilic, which means they contain both hydrophobic (stick to grease and dirt) and hydrophilic (stick to water) groups.
The hydrophilic property allows the dirt and grease attached to the hydrophobic groups to be washed away with the water. We believe the overall quality of our Shampoo bases are on the level of any professional salon grade product and will serve your customers well. |
